Just so you know

I have moved my blog to Escapade78.com. Don't get me wrong, I like adventures of a Texan, but Escapade has such a better meaning. I hope you will subscribe to my new blog and keep following along with me. I plan on canceling my Typepad account in about a month. Cheers!

It's been too long

While my posts have never been very long in length, I used to do them somewhat regularly. I notice, however, that I haven't written in a while. Well, aside from being sick for about a week, I went to Vienna for three days last week. I met up with some friends from my old university, PLNU, and met some new friends at Wollzelle. While my time was somewhat limited with the longer than usual train ride, due to the flooding, I enjoyed every minute of it. My favorite cafes were serving the best pastries with a twist. It is 'erdbeer zeit' or Strawberry Time. Imagine a strudel made with a creamy cheese filling, then adding strawberries to it and sipping a Viennese classic, a melange (half espresso, half steamed milk - I like mine with 2 sugars). Well, I am preparing for a good Easter weekend. Going to a seder tomorrow. Ciao.

Budget, delivery gourmet

I have been looking for more than a pizza delivery place for ordering online food in Prague. So far all I have found is this place - Messenger Fastfood. Very limited, and rather pricey considering most of the places on the list are less than 10 blocks away.

One of my old roommates from Vienna, Eli, lives in Cairo. He said he found an online site that will deliver from almost any restaurant in the city to your doorstep with in an hour. I see a business opportunity for anyone who is willing to live abroad and set up an online-ordering and food delivery service. i know that i would use it. And, Prague, with about 40,000 expats, I am sure could handle the capacity of orders, too.

Thank you for NOT smoking

Not a smoker, per se, yet occasionally I will enjoy a stogie and a scotch. But, this bit of news was rather unique. There have been several restaurants and night clubs that have banned smoking, and have actually seen an increase in sales. Who would have thought that bowling alleys and pool halls would ever be smoke free...and doing well?
