Just so you know

I have moved my blog to Escapade78.com. Don't get me wrong, I like adventures of a Texan, but Escapade has such a better meaning. I hope you will subscribe to my new blog and keep following along with me. I plan on canceling my Typepad account in about a month. Cheers!

Writing about business

Early today, I got an email for Lisa Jones from the Vitamin, a web resource by Carson Systems, about helping to write for them. Of course this is after I asked to be a writer and try to contribute a few thoughts to the web discussions. She asked what area I was interested in and could contribute to. My response...the business of the web.

If you haven't learned by now, I love talking about business ideas, models, and plans. Critiquing, visualizing how I would have done similar or different things as others in the market. Regardless as to whether I will get to write for the Vitamin, I will have plenty of opportunity to speak about business.

Where? At the Simple Business Workshops. So far, interest has been stirring, and signups have begun. In fact, in just one month and 2 days, we will be down in San Diego hosting the first Simple Business Workshop at our alma mater, Point Loma Nazarene University. I am really getting excited about presenting, sharing and meeting new business owners and creative professionals. That is my bread and butter.

So, maybe I will get a chance to write about business on the Vitamin, and maybe not. But, at least I will be writing on my blog about my experiences at the workshops.

Prague Update - Spring Edition

Yes, it is I. The adventurer of the world. Man of mystery and ambiguity. Those last descriptors only exist because I forget to write you and fill you in. So, my mistake. Time to change that. Here we go!

Browsers are finally funny

All browsers have their limitations. So, whatever browser you do use on a regular basis, I think you will agree that this is just plain funny.

Getting as Real as possible

Just started another book today. 37signals just released their new e-book Getting Real. I read the intro, and it is targeted toward folks who are using, interested in, or own an online application. Jason Fried from 37signals comments:

It details the business, design, programming, and marketing principles of 37signals and is packed with keep-it-simple insights, contrarian points of view, and unconventional approaches to software design. This is not a technical book or a design tutorial, it’s a book of ideas.

Stack of cards

I have a huge stack of cards sitting on the table just looking at me. Not a deck of cards for poker (sometimes I wish), instead they are the cards that I collected at DEMO last week. I know that I need to respond to them all, but I am just dreading the time it will take. Oh, well. "Just remember, It is business, it isn't personal."
