February ended with little excitement and March began like it always does. On the first. (laughter from the crowd)
In March, the weather had yet to change. Still getting snow. Even on the day I went to the airport to go back to Dallas. That's right, I went back to Texas to take part in Austin's famed, South by Southwest (SXSW) as a press person. I got a press pass because of my podcast (www.sproutit.com/bigact/podcast) which does moderately well, but let's not linger. It was a great time filled with geeks, musicians and my cousins. I stayed with Mark and Erin at their place on Round Table Road, but I wasn't home early enough to go camping out back. I did get to run by the Jebel (the co-owned longhorn ranch with my brother) and see all of the kids growing up. And, that's no bull. (crowd boo due to terrible pun). Went by Katy and stayed with my dad for a few days. Home sweet home. Then back up to Dallas where I had my great 28. My birthday. (thunderous applause from the home viewers). I met up with Tasha from high school, Sarah from Iwakuni, Japan, Stacy from Dallas/Katy, and several of my brother's friends, to include, Weston the opera man. Then, I flew home.
April came and I got sick (sympathy 'awww' from the crowd). While no physician was involved, I diagnosed it as 'the crud' that followed me from Texas. Put me out of commission for a couple of weeks. The weather here has just started to break, but it can't make up its mind. Rain however seems to always linger. We have had several visitors during the month, too. Jenna and Christina from London and Kim from DC. I am still surprised that more of you haven't stopped by considering the open invite I have been giving since I got here. Oh well, that invite is still open, but not for long.
We, being Peter, Charles, and I, have decided to relocate our business,, an thus ourselves, to the bay area (California) in mid-July. Alas, our time here is coming to a close, but it was planned this way from the beginning. But, before I go, I will be coming back to the states (Texas) one more time before permanently moving back. Why? As I mentioned earlier, this is the year of my great 28. (oh, the term 'great 28' comes from Texas being the 28th state to join the union). And, one of the benefits of the great 28, is a 10 year high school reunion. So, on June 3, I will be dancing the night away and helping others to solve the riddle about Chris Bauman. (who was that masked man?).
Well, until then, there will be another great adventure, but you will have to tune in next time.... (standing ovation)
Ciao,
Chris
(this is the part where you reply to say 'hello' or 'great story' or 'the check's in the mail')
